
Musical Properties
Motivational music is just that, music that motivates. Its the type of music that runners listen to, that boxers listen to, and that other athletes that have to train to keep up their shape listen too. This type of music tends to be more upbeat, have more bass and rhythm rather than be calming and have a slow pace to it like some classical songs do. Motivational music is what people listen to when they want to lose weight, but of course most people don't really want to run. This creates cognitive dissonance because we know what we need but we don't want to work to achieve it. So to relieve ourselves of this dissonance when we go to do what we need to do we listen to music that will push us so that we don't so much think about it. It works fairly well for most people.
